| The private-funded West Lake University has been approved for establishment. Its aim to establish itself as of “high starting, small but elite, and research-oriented” has aroused the attention of public opinion. This paper analyzes the founding model of West Lake University by foundation, as well as the president accountability system under the leadership of Board of Directors. It further proposes that West Lake University’s successful exploration in founding model by foundation will be of the greatest contribution to private higher education. Only when a modern university system is established can West Lake University be built into a world-class university. |
